ŠKOFLJICA / KNOFLJICA

Park of Senses Škofljica was created through the revitalisation of a degraded marsh meadow in the heart of the Ljubljana Marsh. The project combines ecological restoration, social inclusion, and local tradition through a mosaic of thematic zones — from a lime grove and sensory park to an orchard of heritage fruit varieties, a bee island, and floating benches among willows. Wooden piles, a motif drawn from the region’s pile-dwelling heritage, run throughout the park as landmarks and information points. The park functions as a living cell of biodiversity and at the same time as a place for all generations — where history, ecology, and everyday life naturally intertwine.
