Kamačnik

Kamačnik, visitor centre and forest trail

From the main entrance to the Kamačnik canyon where the Kamačnik restaurant is located and the ruins of a former sawmill, it is planned to renovate and upgrade the existing forest path through the canyon to the source, as well as to renovate the stone walls of the old sawmill and to transform it into a visitor centre. The trail is being redeveloped on the upstream, with the redevelopment of the crossings and the installation of new benches, info panels and rest areas. A wooden platform is installed as a new observation post and a wooden pedestrian bridge in the position of the remains of the old bridge. Since Kamačnik canyon is a protected natural landscape, the most stringent environmental standards were taken into account during the planning, with an emphasis on the use of local wood as a material for forest path elements.
